ABOUT THE ARTIST

Laura Zachry is a San Antonio-based photographer and mixed media artist drawn to both the beauty of nature and the raw textures of urban decay. Her work combines photography, encaustic, and acrylic to explore contrast, color, and papered collage to explore color and layered surfaces. She often uses refined photography as collage elements on top of textured, abstract backgrounds.

Originally from Thomasville, Georgia, she studied English at Vanderbilt University and has lived in Texas for over 30 years. Laura’s work has a modern aesthetic and is included in private and corporate collections across the U.S.
